My grandparents retired to our farm in the early 1960's, following my parents who had moved to the adjoining property a few years before. Back then, the old farmhouse was definitely pink, (think Pepto Bismol). Although they soon changed the actual color to white, for us grandchildren who grew up across the field, it would always be "The Pink House." Although neither my parents nor grandparents made their living as farmers, there were always cattle, horses, ponies, pigs, ducks, geese, sheep, and even quail and peafowl on the farm, and we each had our chores and responsibilities in taking care of them. My wife, Sue grew up nearby on a farm which has been in her family for over a hundred years, and which they are still actively farming, so it’s really no surprise that we both have a love of farming in our blood. We also believe that, despite conventional wisdom to the contrary, growing healthy food for people, as opposed to commodities for corporations, can produce a good living as well as a wonderful way of life. That is why, despite also having off-farm jobs most of that time, we have worked hard over the last fifteen years to make Pink House Farm your convenient source for fresh, local, naturally raised food.
